Beaux-Art and Neo Gothic Architecture - HSTARC2

When I saw the word Beaux-Art I immediately related it to beautiful arts. And thus it did not let me down on my expectation.

Neo-gothic is still is a very interesting topic since it is from the original Gothic style. However, it is quite interesting to know and see the differences or the improvements that were made. Most especially how this is applied in current times. Oh wait were the buildings in Gotham city neo-gothic? I think so. That’s interesting too.

Beaux-art is a product of a two and a half century worth of authority and teachings which makes it a wide range of design. It emphasized on the classical ranges but also to the different styles that was thought throughout the period. The design of the architecture depended on the sculptural decoration which employs some Baroque and Rococo features and formulas combined with realism. It was an integrated design and feature for Beaux-Art. It was grand and rich with classical details but still with symmetry.

Neo Gothic or also known as Gothic revival is an architectural movement that began also in England. It aimed to revive the medieval forms. This had become so known and popularly achieved that it is said that it exceeds the authentic number of Gothic architecture made previously. It did not limit itself to architecture but also inspired a lot of things such as furniture, novels, wallpapers, etc. Just like other revivals, it uses the original traits of Gothic architecture. Neo Gothic uses it but with the use of style, modernity and materials infused to it.
